The hike is over, time to start the story post some pictures.
May 25th. Day 0ne. Rogue River Trail,
My bro was my ride up and companion for the first two nights.
Road's end. Pack it up and go. Rained on the drive up, skies still a little cloudy. Trail Head, with typical rules and warnings. My shiny new pack on the right. Not ultra lite, a couple of old farts living in the past. Bro with camera as big as that gut. Rafters. Popular adventure. Commercial interest driving your trucks around to the other end Or the whole enchilada of Guided and equipment. This part is BLM wilderness, no motorboats. National Scenic River.

Poison oak. Trail guide said "insane amount of poison oak". 2 boys from southern Cal just yawned, where?

A Joshua tree, from a 2005 trip, barely had digital cameras then.
Back on the Rouge River
Madrone. Kinda like Manazinta that grew up.
Or maybe it's Oregon Azalea. Hard to tell the 2 of 'em apart till they flower. All three are in the Ericaceae family.
