Just to remind you...
In case that's not enough, here's some more stats...Butcher Bob wrote:Apr. 11:
Our 'stay put' order was extended, from the 13th to the 30th...and it's scope is expanded...
Got two homes you've been jumping back and forth from?...pick one, the shuttling back and forth is now illegal.
Have seeds for this years garden?...because those have now been deemed "non-essential", as have many products sold by stores that are still open...stores have been ordered to cordon off areas of the store that have goods deemed "non-essential".
Apr. 16:
Yesterday protesters shut down our state capitol, filling the streets with their vehicles...they don't like the imposed rules.
Four counties have sheriffs that have said they won't enforce those lock down rules.
Apr. 23:
Our state's first protest was geared toward new excessive restrictions. But now another protest is being organized for Apr. 30, the last day of our current lock down order. The governor has signaled that she will likely extend the order, so now they'll be protesting the whole thing...
“April 30th, our Legislators vote if the Governors State of Emergency Declaration can be extended - We The People make our voices evident - We Vote MICHIGAN OPENS NOW. No more government over reach by executive order, no more restrictive stay-at-home orders, no more restrictions on our purchasing choices and business are to open up unregulated May 1st. Plan to join us for this Revolutionary time and event in Michigan. (This is a peaceful protest).”
Apr. 24:
So my phone started screeching at me.....our stay-at-home order has been extended to May 15.
Some restrictions were relaxed, many of which were the main cause of our protest...now permitted: motor boating, golf, landscaping/lawn care, travel between residences, etc. However a couple new restrictions I noticed...we are now required to wear masks in "enclosed public spaces", and congregating of people who are not part of the same household is prohibited.
May 8:
Michigan's stay-at-home order has been extended...again. The date has now been pushed back another two weeks to May 28th.
"Residents may leave their homes for groceries, exercise or permitted work, but no social gatherings are allowed."
That's right, congregating with anyone outside your household remains illegal. Armed militia wannabe protesters in the state capitol building yelling at police...security guard executed over face mask requirement dispute...businesses opening back up in defiance of the lock down...unemployment levels higher than they've ever been...
May 19:
MI has been divided into 8 regions, each will have different rules and dates for re-opening. Two of the regions can start partial re-openings on Friday. Both had very little numbers to begin with.
The barber who re-opened, won his case against the state in court...so the state revoked his license. Now barber shops and salons all over the state are re-opening, in a show of support.
May 21:
Yeaaay...just in time for the holiday weekend, we are now allowed to congregate in groups no larger than 10. And retail businesses can open...by appointment only. But barbers...fuk you, those types of businesses remain banned. Barbers and salon folks had a protest at the capitol yesterday, providing free haircuts...so the state police cited all the folks giving the free haircuts...“disorderly conduct”. So much for that silly 'free speech' thing.
The governor has already conceded that the protests are a constitutional right...yet she sent her state militia out to fine those folks for exercising that right...after a judge has ruled that she does not have the authority to displace those workers.
May 23:
Our governor extended her stay-at-home order yet again...to June 12 now.
As many businesses are announcing they are closing permanently, many others are publicly defying the order and reopening. They all have the same message...they will risk having their licenses pulled, rather than ensuring their bankruptcy by staying closed.
Jun. 6:
And speaking of tracing...remember how they said the covid tracing would not be used for nefarious political or law enforcement purposes? They lied. Many law enforcement agencies are bragging aboot using it to track protesters, going through their contacts and communications without obtaining warrants....not looters, not rioters, but PROTESTERS. More civil liberties stripped away in the name of public health.
All while politicians refuse to answer for their actions...

The barber our governor has been trying to make an example of, even after he won his case to stay open, had his business license revoked and was being fined for every day he was open, has now won a 7-0 state supreme court decision...

“Unfortunately, many of these are legitimate claimants, whose economic lifeline is now tied up due to this criminal scheme. Our priority continues to be identifying and paying legitimate claimants the benefits they need and deserve,”
Umm, they're not tied up due to a "criminal scheme", they're tied up due to the state's inability to do their job. Recipients already go thru a lengthy process, to determine validity of their claim, before they get even a penny of those funds.
Jul. 19:
Seems the governor's mask mandate is not working out too well here in MI.
Numerous stabbings have occurred due to confrontations. Two occurred on the very first night, and there seems to be at least one a day since. One such suspect, a 43 year old man with zero police interaction history, stabbed a 77 year old man (•edit• he has since died from the injuries), and was put down by a police officer after she stopped him and he charged her with two knives in one hand and a screwdriver in the other...
Most law enforcement agencies in the state have said in press releases that they will not be issuing any citations for not wearing a mask. While the state AG has been directing the Michigan State Police to camp out certain locations to issue citations.
Now the language in a recall petition for the governor has been approved...citing abuse of power for her executive orders.
Jul. 28:
Not only has our governor criminalized not wearing a mask and failure to social distance...
...and threatened businesses with license revocation if their employees do not enforce her order...
...and directed the state police to commit resources to specifically enforce her order...
...and directed DHHS (health departments) to close businesses not enforcing her order...
...she is now also directing MIOSHA (enforces workplace safety standards) to spot check businesses...
...MIOSHA will conduct spot checks of high-traffic businesses, both randomly and by referral...
...MIOSHA could issue citations and penalties up to $7,000.
Businesses are currently required to enforce mask-wearing by both employees and customers and post signs notifying customers about COVID-19 policies under an executive order from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
They are also required to have a preparedness and response plan in the event a customer or employee tests positive, conduct daily health screenings of employees, adopt enhanced cleaning protocols, maintain social distancing and limit capacity.
One small problem.....she does not have the authority to do any of these things.
