Needed, thanks. I was using that fancy silk scarf because it was so big, and silk it would cover my beard, three layers thick, tuck it down in my shirt, ok in cooler weather, now am jes using the bandana, but I'm mostly self isolated.

Survival potential will determine whether South Texas county hospital takes in COVID-19 patients

'We cannot continue functioning the way things are going. The numbers are staggering.'

McALLEN, Texas (Border Report) — In a stunning admission of how dire the COVID-19 situation is in South Texas, the health authority for one border county on Tuesday announced the formation of an ethics committee that will screen all patients for survival potential and will send home those with low probabilities.

Starr County Health Authority Dr. Jose Vazquez said Starr County Memorial Hospital, the county’s only hospital, on Tuesday implemented an ethics committee and a triage committee to review all coronavirus patients as they come in to determine what type of life-saving equipment and treatment they would likely require and whether they would likely survive. Those deemed too fragile or sick or elderly will be advised to go home to loved ones, he said.

Vazquez said the rural county of 61,000 residents has been slammed with cases after Gov. Greg Abbott reopened the state in phases beginning on May 1. The county has had 1,573 cases and 16 deaths with 27 fatality cases pending.

“We are not gods or anybody to make a decision for who should live or who should die. However, when you have a mass-casualty situation there are guidelines that makes you work in a more efficient manner and to help save the maximum number of people,” said Vazquez, who added in his entire career as a physician he has never experienced such a desperate mass medical situation.

we're running a week ahead of my previous prediction
I figured 4 million cases by July 30, but we were there already by July 23
I had figured 10 million cases with 350K dead by 9/11
but now at this rate it could be 100 million cases with 3.5 million dead days before that
and then we'll be seeing another 10 million cases and 350K more deaths each day.
which will start doubling and then tripling, etc every day or so....
it may not slow down until nearly everyone has caught it,
and we'll have at least 10 million dead, maybe by Halloween
I hope I'm wrong, and Trumps 'new tone' will have a good effect,
but even so that may also be countered by the effect of worse hospital grid-lock
this is my prediction chart now:

tell me it won't be complete anarchy by 9/11
I'm starting to wonder if it may be a good idea to totally cash out my 401K while I still can.

looks like we have a second wave of corona in some towns in UK, people out there having garden partys with 30 people invited lol

In MI we are seeing a second wave of new cases. We peaked at 1,626 (7 day moving average) on April 4, dropped to 150 on June 10, and are now back up to 586. But deaths have not had a second wave. We peaked at 145 (7 day moving average) on April 13, and are now at 7. Deaths have remained fairly consistent during this second wave of new cases. This second wave of new cases seems to be due to social gatherings and the re-opening of restaurants and bars...which I'm assuming is mostly younger folks.

maga country here making a point or whatever. I just learned everybody who gets sick enough here is taken 2 the next County, since we don't have facilities, No wonder we have still only one death in this County,

Those are the same ones I get the numbers from.
I ain't figured out how to post images through my xbox yet.

I'm wondering how many states look like those CA charts...those patterns look horrendous.

California has the worst stats. Texas and Florida are rapidly catching up like dark horses in a race. I thought Texas would pass Us by the end of the week but California keeps kicking it up!!!!
