Gimme the Good Earth III

After enjoying the fruits of your labors, we all need a place to chill. This is that place. Totally senseless irrelevant banter encouraged.

Where I meet 4 ducks. Sleeping away the mourning. Not until I got on their rock and fired up a toke with 'em did all of 'em finally pull the beak out and take notice of me. Crazy ducks. Left 'em in peace and moved on.

When my youngest is out of school in three years I would love to try this...but if I got a migraine it could be fatal I would also need to bathe every day as soon as I get up, a cold lake would work.

Rubicon Lake! Haven't been there in decades. Spent a lot of time in the Meek's Bay area when I was young.

Same as a wall socket at home. General every device/battery takes about 2-3 hours from empty to full charge.
I was getting an average of 3-4 hours Sun time per day. needing only 2.5 hours a day; with 3 plus Sun Hours i'm making bank for the sunless or no charging days.

Camera for 2 Sun Hours >> 3 days of use.
Headlamp 2 SH >> 2.5 nights (lots of late night reading)
Phone 3 Sh >> a week with no phone calls/ airplane mode on.
Kindle 2.5 SH >> 8 days.
ipod 1 SH >> 5 days.

The zoo they call the echo lake marina.

The store there sold watermelon slices for $7.50 apiece and a pint of water for $2.50. Sheesh, I moved on..

Crossed Highway 50. Decision time. Easiest bail out and return to trail is here. But I have still have 8 days to my court date in Redding. Hitched to south lake Tahoe where I got a good cell phone connection and made arrangements in 5 days to be picked up at Carson pass by an old hiking/climbing partner whom fortunately had time off from work at the same time. Destiny happens. An easy day and half of trail but with 5 days to do it in.
Laundromat, often an inevitable hangout for thru hikers in town.

So I hung out for 3 days at this really cool spot with a nice snowmelt spring.

Got a little restless, contemplated my fate at sunset as yet another day behind schedule passed on by.
