The Truth About Corona Virus

You are intentionally ignoring information already presented...why?
Just to remind you...
Butcher Bob wrote:Apr. 11:
Our 'stay put' order was extended, from the 13th to the 30th...and it's scope is expanded...
Got two homes you've been jumping back and forth from?...pick one, the shuttling back and forth is now illegal.
Have seeds for this years garden?...because those have now been deemed "non-essential", as have many products sold by stores that are still open...stores have been ordered to cordon off areas of the store that have goods deemed "non-essential".

Apr. 16:
Yesterday protesters shut down our state capitol, filling the streets with their vehicles...they don't like the imposed rules.
Four counties have sheriffs that have said they won't enforce those lock down rules.

Apr. 23:
Our state's first protest was geared toward new excessive restrictions. But now another protest is being organized for Apr. 30, the last day of our current lock down order. The governor has signaled that she will likely extend the order, so now they'll be protesting the whole thing...
“April 30th, our Legislators vote if the Governors State of Emergency Declaration can be extended - We The People make our voices evident - We Vote MICHIGAN OPENS NOW. No more government over reach by executive order, no more restrictive stay-at-home orders, no more restrictions on our purchasing choices and business are to open up unregulated May 1st. Plan to join us for this Revolutionary time and event in Michigan. (This is a peaceful protest).”

Apr. 24:
So my phone started screeching at me.....our stay-at-home order has been extended to May 15.
Some restrictions were relaxed, many of which were the main cause of our protest...now permitted: motor boating, golf, landscaping/lawn care, travel between residences, etc. However a couple new restrictions I noticed...we are now required to wear masks in "enclosed public spaces", and congregating of people who are not part of the same household is prohibited.

May 8:
Michigan's stay-at-home order has been extended...again. The date has now been pushed back another two weeks to May 28th.
"Residents may leave their homes for groceries, exercise or permitted work, but no social gatherings are allowed."
That's right, congregating with anyone outside your household remains illegal. Armed militia wannabe protesters in the state capitol building yelling at police...security guard executed over face mask requirement dispute...businesses opening back up in defiance of the lock down...unemployment levels higher than they've ever been...

May 19:
MI has been divided into 8 regions, each will have different rules and dates for re-opening. Two of the regions can start partial re-openings on Friday. Both had very little numbers to begin with.
The barber who re-opened, won his case against the state in court...so the state revoked his license. Now barber shops and salons all over the state are re-opening, in a show of support.

May 21:
Yeaaay...just in time for the holiday weekend, we are now allowed to congregate in groups no larger than 10. And retail businesses can open...by appointment only. But barbers...fuk you, those types of businesses remain banned. Barbers and salon folks had a protest at the capitol yesterday, providing free haircuts...so the state police cited all the folks giving the free haircuts...“disorderly conduct”. So much for that silly 'free speech' thing.

The governor has already conceded that the protests are a constitutional right...yet she sent her state militia out to fine those folks for exercising that right...after a judge has ruled that she does not have the authority to displace those workers.

May 23:
Our governor extended her stay-at-home order yet again...to June 12 now.
As many businesses are announcing they are closing permanently, many others are publicly defying the order and reopening. They all have the same message...they will risk having their licenses pulled, rather than ensuring their bankruptcy by staying closed.

Jun. 6:
And speaking of tracing...remember how they said the covid tracing would not be used for nefarious political or law enforcement purposes? They lied. Many law enforcement agencies are bragging aboot using it to track protesters, going through their contacts and communications without obtaining warrants....not looters, not rioters, but PROTESTERS. More civil liberties stripped away in the name of public health.
All while politicians refuse to answer for their actions...
Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer rejects Republican invite to testify in coronavirus response probe
The barber our governor has been trying to make an example of, even after he won his case to stay open, had his business license revoked and was being fined for every day he was open, has now won a 7-0 state supreme court decision...
Michigan Supreme Court overturns ruling on Owosso barber
And now the state is going to claw back unemployment benefits for those folks they put out of work...
340,000 Michigan unemployment accounts flagged for potential fraud
“Unfortunately, many of these are legitimate claimants, whose economic lifeline is now tied up due to this criminal scheme. Our priority continues to be identifying and paying legitimate claimants the benefits they need and deserve,”
Umm, they're not tied up due to a "criminal scheme", they're tied up due to the state's inability to do their job. Recipients already go thru a lengthy process, to determine validity of their claim, before they get even a penny of those funds.

Jul. 19:
Seems the governor's mask mandate is not working out too well here in MI.
Numerous stabbings have occurred due to confrontations. Two occurred on the very first night, and there seems to be at least one a day since. One such suspect, a 43 year old man with zero police interaction history, stabbed a 77 year old man (•edit• he has since died from the injuries), and was put down by a police officer after she stopped him and he charged her with two knives in one hand and a screwdriver in the other...
Most law enforcement agencies in the state have said in press releases that they will not be issuing any citations for not wearing a mask. While the state AG has been directing the Michigan State Police to camp out certain locations to issue citations.
Now the language in a recall petition for the governor has been approved...citing abuse of power for her executive orders.

Jul. 28:
Not only has our governor criminalized not wearing a mask and failure to social distance...
...and threatened businesses with license revocation if their employees do not enforce her order...
...and directed the state police to commit resources to specifically enforce her order...
...and directed DHHS (health departments) to close businesses not enforcing her order...
...she is now also directing MIOSHA (enforces workplace safety standards) to spot check businesses...
...MIOSHA will conduct spot checks of high-traffic businesses, both randomly and by referral...
...MIOSHA could issue citations and penalties up to $7,000.
Businesses are currently required to enforce mask-wearing by both employees and customers and post signs notifying customers about COVID-19 policies under an executive order from Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
They are also required to have a preparedness and response plan in the event a customer or employee tests positive, conduct daily health screenings of employees, adopt enhanced cleaning protocols, maintain social distancing and limit capacity.

One small problem.....she does not have the authority to do any of these things.
In case that's not enough, here's some more stats...
...jobless benefits...1.18 million residents with active claims.

About 31 percent of Michigan households now are having difficulty paying for usual household expenses, according to new U.S. Census Bureau data.

“There’s a whole boatload of people who’ve lost jobs through no fault of their own who will take a big hit. The whole economy is going to get weaker and it’s going to stay weaker longer.”

...Food Bank of Eastern Michigan... In a normal year, the food bank helps 14 percent of its service-area population. As of today, it’s topping 39 percent.

More than 2.3 million state workers have filed for jobless benefits since March.

As of August, the average weekly <unemployment> benefit amount in Michigan was $298.

A recent survey by the Small Business Association of Michigan said 10 percent of owners still fear for their business’ survival. Seventeen percent fear sales losses of 50 percent or more for the year.

...credit card debt is increasing...

More than 200 executive orders were challenged in that court case.

Soo, no...it's aboot a lot more than just masks and distancing.

But 'Rah-Rah Team' no matter what eh?....fukking imbecile.

The Truth About Corona Virus

Post by Butcher Bob »

Butcher Bob wrote:When the state supreme court struck down the orders as unconstitutional, Whitmer announced on the same day, that the orders would stay in effect...and that she would find other methods of imposing criminal penalties without the legislature's approval.
Now the state's directors of DHHS and MIOSHA have given press announcements that their departments will continue to enforce the unconstitutional criminal laws, without holding the public hearings required for them to enact policy...in direct violation of the court's ruling.
So now the court has handed down another ruling...and advised the governor of the appropriate method to enact such mandates...yet the governor is still defiant...
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled Oct. 12 that Whitmer’s emergency powers must be stripped effective immediately.

The court noted the ruling “leaves open many avenues for our Governor and Legislature to work together in a cooperative spirit and constitutional manner to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Whitmer has since leaned into the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to issue orders that reflect her original executive mandates.

After the executive orders were invalidated Oct. 2 by the state Supreme Court, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services revived some of the orders as emergency epidemic orders.

Now that the Supreme Court has ruled Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s orders were immediately struck down by their ruling – instead three or four weeks later like Whitmer said – the MDHHS orders are the new law of the land.

https://www.mlive.com/public-interest/2 ... place.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But these orders have no authority either. Lawyers have already noted that these types of policies of the MDHHS require public hearings, which have not been held.

And if you're one of the "it's just masks and distancing" folks, think again...here is a list of the criminal offences instituted without any public input or say in the matter...
Here’s a look at the MDHHS COVID-19 orders, most of which are punishable by a misdemeanor $200 fine/six months of jail or a $1,000 civil fine.

Gathering-size orders

- Indoor gatherings at residences are limited to 10 people
- Indoor gatherings between 10 and 500 at non-residences are limited to 20% of the seating capacity (25% in the Traverse City/Alpena region) if it has fixed seating.
- Such indoor gatherings at places without fixed seating are limited to 20 people per 1,000 square feet (25 in the Traverse City/Alpena region) and masks are required
- Outdoor gatherings at residences are limited to 100 people
- Outdoor gatherings between 100 and 1,000 people are allowed at non-residences, but limited to 30% capacity if it has fixed seating or 30 people per thousand square feet if it’s not fixed seating – and masks are required
- Voting, law enforcement/first responder training, organized sports, schools and day cares are among activities exempt to the gathering limits
- Restaurants are limited to 50% capacity and close indoor common areas where people can dance, congregate and otherwise mingle
- Stores, libraries and museums are limited to 50% capacity (except in the Traverse City/Alpena region)
- Gyms, fitness centers, bowling centers, roller rinks, ice rinks and similar businesses are limited to 25% capacity and must have 6 feet between each station
- Arenas, theaters, waiting rooms at health-care facilities and similar activities are only allowed if the facility makes sure groups maintain 6 feet of distance
- Outdoor pools are limited to 50% capacity
- Indoor pools are limited to 25% capacity
- Non-tribal casinos limited to 15% capacity (tribal casinos aren’t required to follow state orders)

Mask-related orders

- Masks are still required in public spaces like retail, other businesses, offices and schools
- One exemption – mask wearing is only recommended and not required for some people at schools in the Traverse City/Alpena region
- It cannot be assumed people not wearing masks are doing so because they fall under one of the exemptions (like not being able to medically tolerate a mask)
- Masks aren’t required in a few circumstances, like while eating and drinking while seated at a restaurant, while swimming and while voting
- In organized sports, masks are required if 6 feet of distance can’t be maintained in that sport and the audience is limited to two guests per participant

Workplace-related orders

- Offices (except in the Traverse City/Alpena region) are closed if the work doesn’t have to be done in person – in which case, 6 feet of distancing must be maintained
- Potentially COVID-positive people must stay home from in-person work
- Businesses must screen employees for COVID-19
- Business must post signage about the mask requirement and signage about not coming in if sick
- If a restaurant employee is confirmed positive for COVID-19 or shows symptoms at work, the restaurant must close and can’t reopen until it’s deep cleaned to Centers for Disease Control standards
- Businesses like barbershops, tattoo/piercing places, other personal care services, arenas, theaters, other places of public amusement, gyms, bowling centers, ice rinks, in-home services and other similar businesses must keep records of people for contract tracing purposes

School and care-facility-related orders

- With any COVID-19 school cases, the local health department must inform the affected school within 24 hours
- Within 24 hours of that, the school must notify the school community of employees, parents, etc. of the positive case
- Congregate care facilities and juvenile justice facilities have guest requirements, like only allowing scheduled visits, screening visitors, requiring masks in shared spaces, requiring social distancing, etc.
- Nursing homes and other residential care facilities have a list of restrictions, like limiting communal dining, informing staff and residents of positive cases, limiting indoor and outdoor visitation depending on the circumstances, etc.

More MDHHS orders could be coming in the coming days, Sutfin said.

The Truth About Corona Virus

Thanks for the work, you could have stopped at the first three entries, 5 months being told and you still don't get it.
:deadhorse: try it one more time.

8 weeks

8 weeks of lockdown, mask & distancing >> resulting in no more new viral infections >> no more spreading. In 8 weeks the virus as a Contagion would be literally eradicated from the area. You could safely open and conjugate without mask.

Just 8 frickin' weeks! Pullezzz.

April 11,16, 23 entries. and the wingNut trumper's couldn't do it thus their actions kept it spreading, thus new cases, thus resetting the 8 weeks back to day one. Over and over again.

Jes 8 weeks. Poof gone. But noooo.

Unfortunately that played out all over the country .

Y'all Should have listened dr. Anthony fauci, as your governor did.

8 effing weeks.

Sorry it's your own damn Wingnuts fault not the governor's for your economic collapse.

The Truth About Corona Virus

You are rationalizing behavior, in support of tyrannical methodology.
Butcher Bob wrote:We have a governor and two department heads, that are defying law enforcement, prosecuters, and the court. When the executive branch takes action against the will of the legislative and judicial branchs...that's called tyranny, plain and simple. There are no rationalizations to justify this behavior...it is wrong, period.
Butcher Bob wrote:...criminal offences instituted without any public input or say in the matter...
I would tend to agree with your assessment IF appropriate avenues had been taken...but they were not. Instead, the governor chose to work outside the limits of her powers, even after being informed her actions were illegal. She could have worked with the legislature from the very beginning...but she chose not to. She chose political showboating, in hopes to advance her career. Yea, Go Team!

Influenza drug shows promise against SARS-CoV-2

Written by James Kingsland on October 14, 2020 — Fact checked by Hannah Flynn, MS

Researchers have found that high doses of a drug called favipiravir strongly inhibit SARS-CoV-2 in hamsters. Favipiravir also prevented infection in healthy animals that had exposure to an infected cage mate.

InIn June 2020, however, the first conclusive results from clinical research involving humans revealed that hydroxychloroquine was ineffective.
https://www.recoverytrial.net/news/stat ... h-covid-19" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Virologists at the Rega Institute for Medical Research in Leuven, Belgium, have now developed a model of COVID-19 in Syrian hamsters, which they hope will provide more reliable information before the results of clinical trials become available.

They have already used their animal model to test different doses of favipiravir, an antiviral drug that has had approval in Japan since 2014 to treat pandemic influenza infections.

The team has also used the model to confirm that hydroxychloroquine is ineffective.

The scientists chose Syrian hamsters to model COVID-19 because the SARS-CoV-2 virus replicates strongly in these animals shortly after infection. Also, unlike in mice, infected hamsters develop a mild lung disease similar to the early stages of COVID-19 in humans.

They treated some hamsters with the drugs for 4 days, starting 1 hour before they infected the animals by introducing the coronavirus into their noses.

In separate experiments to test whether the drugs could prevent infection, they treated healthy animals with the drugs for 5 days, starting 1 day before they entered a cage with an infected hamster.

At 4 days after infecting the hamsters or exposing them to an infected animal, the researchers imaged their lungs and measured how much viable virus was present in their organs.

Hydroxychloroquine proved ineffective in reducing levels of the virus or preventing transmission, whether or not the hamsters received it in combination with azithromycin (an antibiotic that doctors treating COVID-19 often give alongside the antimalarial).

However, favipiravir significantly reduced the number of viable virus particles present in the hamsters’ lungs, with higher doses leading to a more significant reduction.

Of the eight animals that received the highest dose, for example, six had no viable virus remaining in their lungs following the treatment.

Damage to their lungs was also less than that in the untreated animals, and there were no signs of adverse effects.

Similarly, high doses of favipiravir prevented healthy hamsters from becoming infected, whereas hydroxychloroquine provided no protection.

In fact, none of the animals in the favipiravir group had viable virus particles in their lungs after exposure to an infected cage mate, which suggests that the drug could work as a prophylactic.

“If further research shows that the results are the same in humans, the drug could be used right after someone from a high-risk group has come into contact with an infected person,” says Suzanne Kaptein, who led the research.

The Truth About Corona Virus

Post by bentech »

"Josiah Zayner's plan was simple: replicate a Covid-19 vaccine that had worked in monkeys, test it on himself and then livestream the experiment online over a period of months," reports Bloomberg.

"Zayner discovered, testing a vaccine is far more complicated than he had imagined."
Even though his experiment yielded a promising result, Zayner found too many unanswered questions to say that it worked. For one, it wasn't clear whether antibodies he found in his own body in extremely tiny measures before the experiment began made a difference... As the U.S. rushes to bring a vaccine to market far faster than has ever been done, Zayner said he has discovered why the long, slow process of clinical trials shouldn't be rushed. A promising early stage result is just that: promising...

Initially, Zayner assumed that the experiment he named Project McAfee, after the antiviral software, would be relatively straightforward. The vaccine selected had triggered protective immunity against the virus in rhesus macaque monkeys in a paper published in May. Zayner was able to order the same spike protein sequence from the DNA-synthesis company the researchers had used. The plan: He and two fellow biohackers — Daria Dantseva in Ukraine and David Ishee in Mississippi — would themselves test the concoction they ordered online. They would then livestream the entire process online over several months, with the first showing to occur in June.

But early on in the experiment, complications arose. Before starting, Zayner took a test at Lab Corp Inc. that told him he didn't already have antibodies to the virus. But when he performed a similar test on himself shortly afterward, he found that he did have some antibodies, just not enough to produce a positive result on Lab Corp's test. While those antibodies didn't appear to be the neutralizing type, he wondered whether the result came because the vaccine was picking up signals from antibodies to a different virus — or how this faint antibody signal might affect things. "I'm very suspicious of my own data," he said.

He's not alone. Hank Greely, a bioethicist at Stanford University, said Zayner's experiment pointed out an underappreciated reality of vaccine development. "Actually making the vaccine isn't that hard," he said. "It's testing it and knowing that it's safe — and knowing that it's effective...." Zayner's next project will focus on showing people how to grow chicken cells to make their own fake meat. With vaccines, Zayner concluded, "Large scale clinical trials are probably required, because it is so messy."

The Truth About Corona Virus

Post by Butcher Bob »

Oh gee, look...after excusing her abuse of power, issuing a multitude of executive orders over the last 6 months, saying the republicans in congress were not willing to work anything out...turns out, in just 10 days of working with the house and senate, legislation has been written, debated, and passed into law...

These new Michigan laws replaced Whitmer’s overturned COVID-19 executive orders

So the governor's previous political showboating was straight up bullshit...just unwarranted rationalization for her seizing power she was not entitled to.

Now. If we could only get our politicians at the national level to work together like that.
