finding bulk soil for gardening...

Post by rSin »

ya,
ive noticed alot of folks use wire and cloth to put alot of airspace between their garden beds and the soil they are over...

i guess theyre just more tuned into precisely what is needed for what theyre going to be growing

What will grow under oak trees? I would think strawberries would work. Miners Lettuce grows naturally and well under ‘em. A zucc grew well under partial shade of an oak here. Or did till the snow ended it all.

i was more concerned about the aciding soil than the indirect sunlight...
the trees canopy is more than 30 feet across... not your biggest oak

Sorry, I don’t know about the acidity, but the oaks leaf compost is dang good stuff, fo sure. I’d be more worried about the cutworms that live around oak roots.
Or maybe even allelopathy, although I don’t know if oaks do that, seems like it though.
