what you gonna grow for this season !!!
had beets other night. still got some.
walked orchard was 4 early asian pears and 1 branch
of apples that are ripe. my giant asian pear tree looks like it has
20 or so on it. better every year. picking green beans in a day
or two. potato's ready to dig. good eat's this time of year.

had artichokes last night bunch of them.
took some over to bro after i cooked them.
picked the giant asian pears a week ago.
was more than i thought over a bushel. damn there good.
still more things to harvest.

I've never had a tree-ripened pear, at least I don't think so. I've got an Anjou tree now and I've lived in places twice with pear trees in the yard and none of those had fruit that would ripen on the tree properly. You had to pick them for them to get right.

i have a conference pear tree and even at the end of September they are ripened but still rock solid, i pick and then put them in a paper bag in a darkened cupboard at room temps for 7 to 10 days and they really ripen up and get soft and really sweet......
