ok, i can see the picture pretty good, But I'm still somewhat of a CAVEMEN & that's not something i would want to fuck up trying to build.

can you please give the spec's and how to info. I'll be able to save it then and put it to use in the future. i can't afford that fancy tesla thing . thx.

The one pictured only cost about $10.00 to build.
I got the copper pipe at work for free so I had to purchase 2 end caps.
The wood was scrap.
I bought a package of small L brackets at Home depot and used tie wire to secure everything.
I used styrofoam which I carved into the desired shape to hold the pipe away from the wood and centered on the mason jar which was recycled from Renes Ceaser Dressing.
In later runs I sealed the end caps with foil tape which I also got at work. It made a huge difference in yield and amount of butane required!
I don't know what else to tell you but I will try to answer any questions you have.

never had much luck refilling lighters...
seems i cant ever get the parts to mate up correctly

ive seen a couple of these rigs since dick posted this one

both were galvanized steel with screw on end caps
and the side which the butane would mate to had a tapped hole a small fitting was threaded into
like a very small diameter funnel

always wondered how dick managed to get his to match up and run
the ones i saw both required the operator to stand there over it keeping the parts held together so that the butane would continue to flow

still wonder about the mason jar

would make it a pain to collect the oil after the process it being so deep

I think you dissolve it with alcohol and then pour it out into a glass dish.

amazing how much butane he keeps pulling out of it after repeated trips under the vacuum...
would think it would all come out the first time after a few seconds
