It's not mine, it belongs to a guy from my group on fb, but it is a good place to start learning how to build a system.

This is his first attempt and they gave him all sorts of great tips on how to improve it
I have just been lurking up to this point but I thanked them for sharing it and announced my newbiness, so if you have any questions now is your chance to get them answered.
They are in a sharing mood.
The advice they gave him last night is to,
1. shorten the hoses between the separator and coil.
2. keep the pump and the coil close to the same height and preferably below the recovery tank
3. Stainless steel are the way to go due to corrosion from the processing, resist the temptation to go cheap is the advice.

This is a design for a more advanced system that was posted last night and I don't exactly understand it but that is my goal.
Also, he wasted no time making the changes they recommended and this is how it looks today.

why not use carbon dioxide if you've got that setup?
and now that I think about it, why use butane at all instead of co2?

These guys tell me that co2 is not a good solvent and what actually happens is that the terpines become the solvent in the hyper critical extraction process . I have tried what I thought was good co2 but it came nowhere close to a good mixture of iso butane and n propane. It comes down to yield in the end. With my hands free thing I am just getting a small fraction of what's possible. In that patent that I shared for thca crystal culture he recommends using 10 or 12 cans of butane and I have only been using 2 but then cooking the weed in coconut oil for 6 hours.

found this,
im curious as it shows a recovery pump in addition to your vacuum pump
I only see one a single vacuum pump in both of the pictures you've got. can you plumb it so a single device will do the duty of both in the process?

I am pretty sure you can just close a valve and move the pump to the other end of the loop.
