Federal authorities are using a new tactic in their battle against protesters in Portland, Oregon: arrest them on offenses as minor as "failing to obey" an order to get off a sidewalk on federal property — and then tell them they can't protest anymore as a condition for release from jail.

Legal experts describe the move as a blatant violation of the constitutional right to free assembly, but at least 12 protesters arrested in recent weeks have been specifically barred from attending protests or demonstrations as they await trials on federal misdemeanor charges..

Thought withdrawal of federal agents from frontline policing of demonstrations in downtown Portland significantly reduced tensions in the city overnight.

Protesters in support of Black Lives Matter once again rallied near the federal courthouse that became a flashpoint, and the scene of nightly battles amid the swirl of teargas, after Donald Trump dispatched agents to end what he called anarchy in the city after weeks of demonstrations.

And then Trump doubles down, he's going to send in "troops", National Guard with authority to go beyond defending the courthouse, yet there is hours of footage already a federal contractors, and Marshalls roaming and beating protesters off Federal property, daily. ( and of course Portland PD) If you fail to get the threat he says he will put the entire American city Portland in emergency federal quarantine. With soldiers. Saying it's will of the people, the mayor and the governor. Yanno bs.

And how are elections supposed to work during a Citywide federal emergency lockdown?? With armed troops controlling mail-in voter boxes, or worse barr's Stormtroopers, or worse armed Trump supporters protecting the mail in Ballot Box, as seen in the armed Michigan Trump supporters in government buildings.
Yeah we better put off the elections till it's safe and Trump is out of office.

Barr was talking about Durham’s report in the recent Senate hearings, the work had been delayed by the coronavirus crisis. Barr added, “Justice is not something you order up on a schedule like you’re ordering a pizza.”

Durham is a longtime federal prosecutor in Connecticut known for leading organized crime and public corruption cases. In 2008, Attorney General Michael Mukasey tasked Durham with investigating the CIA’s destruction of interrogation videotapes. A year later, Attorney General Eric Holder expanded Durham’s mandate to examine CIA torture allegations.

Now, Durham is conducting a comprehensive global probe of the U.S. government’s investigation of the Trump Campaign’s connections with Russia. The investigation covers pre- and post-election matters, and reportedly has come to include the unmasking of former national security adviser Michael Flynn, and the basis for the intelligence community’s assessment that Russia tried to help Donald Trump win the election in 2016. These are all matters on which President Trump has publicly commented. Before and after Durham began his investigation, Trump has often claimed, in fiery rhetoric, that the Trump campaign investigation, and the unmasking of Flynn, and the intelligence community’s assessment, were illegitimate. He has also charged that some of the people apparently under investigation by Durham engaged in misconduct on matters under investigation. Attorney General Barr has also publicly commented that some of the people under investigation engaged in serious wrongdoing.

The fruits of the Durham investigation reportedly be disclosed later this summer, or in the fall.

I'm looking forward to the report. Just from the leaked tidbits we find out some interesting, if not concerning info. Like Obama being fully aware of the status of the Flynn "investigation", while Yates knew nothing. Man Obama hated that guy for some reason. Or that it was Biden that suggested prosecution under the Logan Act. It would seem these guys were really trying to thwart the incoming president's ability to do his job. Stinks of envy...just like Trump.

You have seen leaks!! I know I should be fair and wait but if Barr's fingers are in mix and they are it will be nothing but garbage and misdirection much like his disingenuous summary on the Mueller investigation.

Since Portland has quiet down, and black lives matter and justice petitioning the government is back on track. except for the sheriff department still tear gas and flash-banging black protesters. But away from the courthouse.

I'm going to mention again that Fiona Hill noted in the impeachment hearings that the Russian interference wasn't to help any particular candidate it was to sow distrust and doubt no matter who won. It worked.
