floro ballasts...

i just noticed they read " powers 1 to 2" or "powers 3 to 4" bulbs...

leads me to think,
a single bulb powered by a "1 to 2" ballast might output more than it would if its ballast were powering two bulbs...

could this be a trick to get the more out of a floro grow?

Doubt it.

I suspect the ballasts can supply enough current for two tubes, but the voltage will be the same whether one or two tubes are used... the voltage from the supply and the impedance of the tube will determine the current flowing in that tube (and thus the output).

If you have a "1 to 2" tube ballast then the very best way of maximizing the light would be to run two tubes, rather than one.

Bloke nailed it. And notice if take out a lamp form a two lamp ballast, the notice the other light doesn’t get brighter. They are design that way, just cause lamps goes bad at times. Look at one, no way to wire it up as only one anyway

who different ballast for those single bulb fixtures then?
