things have changed so much

unfortunately its for the worse in much of the american backwater

those of us on the left coast
and in suburbs of major cities
are in the same boat as metro homosexuals are today

thinking the breathing room they have carved out
extends across the landscape

it most decidedly hasnt
and conservatives are leading efforts antagonist in many of their bastions

there has never been more call for good advise for closet cultivars than today
in places where your security demands letting the yard and houseplants go to shit

just so you dont show a green thumb

if only we'd had a few rich people on OUR side

had we
a foolproof method of sending several clones via overnight envelope would have shown up a long time ago

Yeah it's pretty easy now for those of us in areas where prohibition has been rolled back, at least part way. I've already gotten quite used to being able to buy cannabis at the store, it seems normal and visiting places where it is still pure contraband feels like stepping into a time machine set back a decade or two. The next time I visit Amsterdam it'll just seem normal to me instead of some magical place where things are run by commonsense rather than Ansligerian lunacy. I still don't understand how his racist demonization of cannabis spread so virulantly across borders and oceans and infected even places with ho history of cannabiphobia. Madness.

Clones via mail: I got cuttings in the mail a number of times seven or more years ago or whatever the applicable statute of limitations cutoff is and some methods seemingly worked pretty well while I had no joy with others. A couple of observations: I don't think summer is suited for sending as some of the places mail winds up in summer will at times be hot enough to seriously stress cuttings. And two, rooted cuttings seem far more resilient to the journey than unrooted. Overnight is obviously preferable, I think I read somewhere that overnight parcels get less obnoxious attention because of obvious time constraints but I'd google that up to be sure. The problem with overnight vs. stamps is the billing trail. The sender would probably have to buy a cash card Visa with cash and use an overnight street mailbox to insulate the himself there. A fake beard and big sunglasses couldn't hurt either.

A good method for sending a couple of cuttings via overnight envelope might look something like placing the rooted cuttings in standard vacuum sealed pouches with a few chunks of wet perlite. Maybe use a second outer pouch with some activated carbon. If the vacuum sealer is the type that can re-inject N2, I'd figure out how use CO2 instead. I don't think you need any chemicals like nutrients or antifungals. Should be pretty low profile.

Dude, you are over-thinking this.

Living plants in the dark need oxygen to survive.

Heat seal them with air. Multiple layers and mylar bag over top is good. Forget the N2 or CO2, the clones need that O2 whilst in the package w/ no light or it's more than simple stress.

Roots

I would just send fresh cuts, no roots.

Put the cut part in a wet paper towel and put about 20 cuts in a gallon ziplock with a little extra water...don't worry if they get smashed a little........it's pretty simple to test at home, just cut and store them for a few days (up to seven days) and try to root them after.

The survival rate will be significantly higher if the cuttings are rooted in my anecdotal experience if the journey turns out to be stressful on the cuts. Rooted cuttings are just more resilient. If the trip is easy, either way will work.

August / September 2002 was hellaciously hot in the UK, record highs, common areas grass across the city burnt to a crisp, etcetera. During that time I received a couple dozen shipments of cuttings from a friend of Mr. Wonderfuls (Where did he get to, btw) in Amsterdam. Packed pretty much as Roots described, we had slightly better than an 80% survival rate for an average trip time of 7 days, almost as good as any rooted shipments I've ever had (Likely about 90%+ survival). Naked cuttings take up less space, are far quicker and simpler to prepare, and overall the easiest method.

Cuttings, paper towel, water, ziplock, done!
The last fucking thing you want is my undivided attention...

Free the Burmese Kush

Nothing is fool proof but I would grow the clones in a small flat as possible freezeable container. allow the roots to establish to point of overgowing the "flat" freeze and ship in a waterproof container. By the time the clone roots thaw .... with water available. arrive within week should be viable. Sorta egg carton.

tips hat .. or am I missing the point of this thread.

Tips hat wheres my beer?

Or does it matter.
Just because I can't spell misanthrope doesn't mean I'm completely stupid.
