Shhhhhhhh. Be vewy, vewy quiet!
First hunting trip in my new home.
It's been a bit too dry for the last week or so and the ground underfoot was pretty firm.
Only found a couple of dozen, but if we get some rain before it gets too cold, the prospects should improve.

Sometimes you get a little bluing at the base of the stem when you've picked them, but not all that often, and even when you do, it's not all that noticeable.
They definitely don't bruise blue like most of the larger "active" psilocybes.

Found this cute little waxcap, too: And some Paneolus sphinctrinus ("petticoat fungus") Oh, and a Shaggy Parasol I found a couple of days ago..... it was delicious.

Here's today's harvest.
Wide variations in the cap colour, due to some being very wet, and some almost dry.
A couple of days rain seems to have improved the hunting prospects.

If you find the motherlode they can be easily and effectively dried in a fruit dehydrator, powdered and put into 00 or 000 gelatin caps. One or two big caps filled with powder is about perfect. They keep very well too long term with the usual cool, dark dry caveats.

The airing cupboard also works well, then a couple of days in a dessicant jar with silica gel.
I have 00 capsules and a "cap-em-quick" for just these sorts of occasions.

I found four LCs in a friend's yard this morning. Not enough to do anything but it was fun to know they are there. They are really hard to see, even when they are there. Then you spot a few and then somehow your eyes get used to spotting them and they get much easier to see.
