as a rule of thumb, its always better to work with stuff critical to keep sterile in the morning
less dust etc in the air after hours of nobody moving around

Was on the phone with Alabaster last night, he mentioned getting syringes with mycilium in them rather than spores...said it speeds up the inoculation process, only two weeks. Just something to consider. :)

my try at outdoor mushrooms

Post by Lrus007 »

ok so friend got me 2 spore prints local even.
he will send next week. i was going the make the bags
from scratch. but changed my mind. i ordered some bags
with the filter and injection port on them. so spent a few
hours reading today. i know how to make a syringe from a
spore print now. pretty simple. friend is sending 2 syringes
with the spores. i will need to make them sterile also.
going to have to get my large pressure cooker from bro.
for when i make the spawn in the bags. got rye, hardwood
sawdust, bags and spores. got bag sealer and pressure cooker.
i think i have everything i need.

i had put my spore bag into my carport for lower temps.
took a look at it today. looks like it has recovered. do not
see the green mold anymore. so this bag might work after all.
set it back down there and will look in another 2 weeks.

ate some shroomy chocolate bar my son dropped by.
He said only eat half, so I ate the whole thing.
Prolly good advice on his part.

Sitting here thinking and no negatives come to mind about throwing some cow shit under the trailer and see what pops.
still not takin that jab.

ok looked at the bag today.
looks like 2/3 white and 1/3 green *on the top.
DSCN2890.JPG
then i mixed up the bag a bit to spread the white around.
DSCN2896.JPG
i have been debating making a new bag.
then pluck a few chunks of the white and add to it.
might be faster than off a spore print. i dono still thinking.
it seems to like the wet shredded brown bags the best.
i might be fucked from mixing bag this week. i will see..
