January 6th Hearings

Post by ripper5 »

It's great that Rusty Bowers didn't want to break the law for Donald Jesus Orange Vomit Trump. That's to be applauded.

That being said the guy is still a delusional Christian nationalist, he just doesn't rise to the fascist level, unlike dumpy's stormtroopers. For instance, his unfounded belief that the Constitution is divinely inspired. Bunch of nonsense. He's so delusional that in spite of everything, he's ready to vote for dumpy again in 2024.

Once you allow too much public respect for religious (devine/supernatural) nonsense, there ultimately is no end to the drapravity that ensues. See history:

BTW what is all this great shit that dumpy supposedly did before the pandemic? (According to Bowers)

All I remember is that he lifted pollution regs on Corps, gave billionaires billions, shut down the government for a stupid useless wall, moved an embassy over religious superstitious nonsense, & divided the country as far as he could. What am I missing?

Oh right! Almost forgot: Got rightwing leaning supreme court justices. Considering his choices' religious leanings I'd call this a disaster.

January 6th Hearings

Fwiw judges appointed under T*****'s reign were chosen by the Federalist Society, they gave him a list. T**** is a tool. A murdering tool.

_ _ _ _ _

This is what I'm talking about the committee is continuing to evolve with new evidence. This is not just a history lesson. As representative Thompson and Liz said "The malferance and threat to democracy is not over", continues to this hour.

Jan. 6 panel revises hearing schedule, citing new evidence

After the committee’s Thursday hearing — which will focus on former President Donald Trump’s effort to deploy the Justice Department to help overturn the 2020 presidential election — House investigators will resume hearings in July, Thompson said.
Thompson (D-Miss.) cited newly received footage from documentarian Alex Holder, who had access to Trump and his family before and after Jan. 6; new documents from the National Archives; and a flood of new tips received during the committee’s first four public hearings.

Although panel leaders have only teased the possibility of two public hearings beyond Thursday’s, Thompson said they may add one or more hearings, depending on the evidence it collects in the coming weeks. The House is scheduled to leave town for two weeks beginning Friday and to return on July 12. Thompson said the panel’s hearings would likely resume “after the recess.”
...
Thompson said he has already viewed some of the footage provided by Holder, who is slated to privately speak with the select committee Thursday, though he hasn’t seen all of it yet. He described Holder’s footage as “important” but declined to elaborate.

January 6th Hearings

Post by Dick Cheney »

For the fifth hearing committee is poised to present evidence to the nation about the attempted capture and corruption of the Department of Justice by former President Donald Trump in his bid to overturn the results of the 2020 election.

Trump pushed to have the department state publicly that there was widespread election fraud where there was none. Trump angled to have the department file lawsuits on his behalf so his failed fraud allegations would appear credible.
All of this was done in hopes of obstructing the Joint Session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, so the 45th president could remain in power though he lost both the popular and Electoral College vote to now-President Joe Biden.

A culture of intimidation pervaded the Department of Justice in 2020.
Trump had spent four years blurring the lines between the executive branch and the judicial branch, but never was it as murky as it became after he lost the election.
At the center of this muck was Jeffrey Clark, an environmental lawyer introduced to Trump by Rep. Scott Perry, a Pennsylvania Republican long sympathetic to Trump’s election fraud conspiracy theories.
Clark was appointed to the Department of Justice by Trump just like Rosen, Donoghue, and Engel. But once inside, Clark kept an alliance with the president and engaged in what Thursday’s witnesses have previously described to the Senate Judiciary Committee as a campaign to oust officials who dared go against Trump.
According to records and interviews, it was Jan. 3, 2021 when Clark met with Trump in the Oval Office and presented the president with a letter.
It was a draft intended to go to the leaders of various legislatures in states that Trump had lost, like Georgia. The Justice Department identified fraud in the election, the draft falsely claimed, and it encouraged its recipient to send a slate of “Trump electors”—though they were unsanctioned—to Congress on Jan. 6.

Rejected Draft Letter From Clark To GA Officials Dec 28

Trump had already lost dozens of lawsuits at this point and the deadline for states to submit their electors to Congress had long passed.
Clark had shown this letter to Rosen days before the meeting in the Oval with Trump. Rosen rejected it wholesale, telling Clark the fraud claims were unsubstantiated and he could not back it.
The men had already met the month before and Rosen made his positions clear: The claims were dubious. But at that December meeting, Rosen had also learned that Clark had sessions with Trump in secret, something forbidden by department protocol. Rosen ordered Clark not to do it again. Clark disobeyed him.
A day before the Jan. 3 meeting in the Oval Office, Clark asked to meet with Rosen in private. Rosen agreed, but he didn’t want to go alone. He asked Donoghue to join them.
It was there that Clark—their subordinate—informed them that Trump wanted to replace Rosen. And Clark would be the one to do it.
He wanted that letter out.
... and more to come
See it all and more today. Starts at noon,12:00 pacific time.

January 6th Hearings

Post by Dick Cheney »

“... Just say that the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me and the Republican Congressmen,”

At the first public hearing Liz promised there would Revelations of members of Congress asking the White House for presidential pardons.
And today they did.
Here they are:

Mo Brooks
Matt Gaetz
Andy Biggs
Louie Gohmert
Scott Perry
Marjorie Taylor Green

In addition, while Jim Jordan did not ask for a pardon, he did inquire about the prospect of pardons. There may be more.
To get this all cleared up and establish they did nothing wrong, might we suggest these folks agree to testify under oath before the January 6 committee?

Feds Raid Home of DOJ Official Jeffrey Clark. Based on evidence presented by the committee's 5th hearing today.

ahhh i see
Peeps on Twitter reporting one of the fox Affiliates cut off their live stream in the middle of yesterday's hearings.
What is telling is the public Witnesses are people who supported and still support Trump. It might give Fox viewers pause. Even whab deleted his post in his thread.

Is it the jumping on the anti Trump bandwagon or rats jumping ship?
