what sucks is the length of his pretrial confinement was a result of the prosecution asking for more time and his lawyer or public defender convincing him to agree in the hope that the case will resolve without need for trial

so in a very sad way, he had some complicity
talk about a mind fuck

you have the right to a speedy trial
this only happens when you waive it repeatedly
