This discussion that sending women into combat is perhaps some type of progress or accomplishment of the modern human race. I think if we were evolving in a truly progressive manner, we would be diminishing war as a means of solving conflict.

Everyone I've ever known that has experienced combat is tormented by memories of what they witnessed.

I don't think anyone here is saying that. And in fact, there have been many instances of women fighting in wars throughout human history.

The objective of war is to conquer. Conquered women (and men) may be subject to war crimes and abuse far exceeding that of strict combat. Many women throughout history have elected to fight rather than be conquered and abused (and ultimately killed anyway).

And as in day-to-day life, there are some women who are faster, stronger and more agile than some men. So there will always be exceptions to which gender is better suited to fighting.

On a related subject, I don't see any reason why women can't be good drone operators. That's a front-line position now. Warfare is changing. The biggest and strongest are not always the best. It just makes you a bigger target.
