The White House on Friday said it is "committed" to working with Congress on new legislation to repeal current presidential war powers to be replaced with a "narrow and specific framework" to protect U.S. national security, while "ending the forever wars."

The commitment comes after a bipartisan group of senators, led by Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Todd Young, R-Ind., on Wednesday called for the repeal of presidential war powers granted by Congress in 1991 and 2002, which would revoke authorization for military force in the Middle East, as tensions rise between the U.S. and Iran.

Senators from across the ideological spectrum signed onto the Kaine-Young bill as co-sponsors on Wednesday, including Sens. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Chris Coons (D-Del.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa).

Members in both houses wants it. bipartisan support.
The American people want it.

Riiight...
Kaine and Young have introduced similar efforts before...
...but it will work, this time.

In our lifetimes, how many bills to legalize marijuana have been introduced?...have any of them passed?

Congress has a habit of introducing legislation merely for the sound bite, without any chance of the bills ever passing. You may be naively optimistic, and really believe there is a chance this will happen. But I on the other hand am pessimistic, seeing how we've handled Syria overall...

Well, evidently the whole "no deportations for the first 100 day" was a load of crap as well.

Good thing he wasted all that time on 'immigration reform'....instead of getting those checks out.
More problems on the immigration front. Remember the whole kids in cages thing everyone was so upset aboot? Well it looks like Joe is back to setting records...

Apparently the whole immigration situation at the border is so bad, that they are sending in FEMA...

After all the time and effort Biden has spent on numerous EO's to implement his immigration plan, it is now officially a national disaster.

Meanwhile, aboot those checks...

Seems the House needs to vote on the bill again? I'm assuming the Senate has done some revisions to the bill, that need to go back for House approval. :dunno:

They reduced the amount, which got substantial news coverage. They added means testing, which got fair news coverage. But there is a small bit of important information that was not covered in the news. In the first two rounds of checks, there was a protection provision in the bills that made sure folks got that money...nobody else could touch it. However in this bill, that provision has been left out. What this means is, if you owe a business (of any type) any "past due" amounts that are currently in "collections", they can garnishee your check. The business can simply take a list of everyone in arrears to a judge, who will rubberstamp their approval for garnishment, then inform account holders (banks) of the garnishment, and those folks' accounts are flagged for the immediate transfer when the check hits it.

So...while they rejoice with platitudes of "rescuing" those in need...the worst off among us, will be getting fuk'd the hardest. :frown:

So....strawman?

Can't counter the actual facts of the point being made, so you just spew shit completely unrelated.

Rather untidy of you to use that rationalization AFTER whab points out the source is MSNBC. :p

While I would like to stay abreast of conservative viewpoints, I have found I can't stomach watching anything from those new "news channels". Got suckered into clicking on some of their vids when they first started to appear, and quickly determined them to be straight up propaganda. Tucker is the only one from FOX that doesn't garner the same reaction. Even with him, I have to factor in his biases and racism, to get to the actual facts.

Just a coincidence the topics line up eh......riiiight.

Well let's address those comments then...

I can agree with Beau's viewpoint at times...but these videos are garbage.

Anybody relating Biden being like FDR, is straight up shit talking...gaslighting. While there are many things that could illustrate this point, we'll just look at COBRA coverage in the stimulus bill. It is my understanding that there is $54 billion earmarked to cover aboot 1.25 million folks for 6 months...that will be paid direct to insurers, who will provide substandard coverage. That's an annual rate of aboot $80,000 per person, for substandard coverage. Under M4A, the annual cost per person would be aboot $10,000 for FULL coverage. Real FDR like.

On the "leaked" immigration plan....it wasn't fukking leaked. It was directly disclosed in numerous EO's. And the labeling of the situation as a crisis, was done by DHS...a department Joe's appointee assumed control of back on Feb 2nd.

This is representative of what Biden's MO will be....feed the rich, and point fingers when his shit fails.
