I mean if its secure enough for banking surely their nothing to prevent it from being used for voting

specially since the voting age will be dropped to 10 while were at it...

only thing acceptable (to me) are dna markers

as papers have been also hacked and faked in the past , especially the home - paper - voters , no control of whats happening when you threw the paper into the post office box

for example , whole military bases got their paper voting stuff, but they didnt vote, somebody took all the papers and voted in the name of individual soldiers , so that the whole base voted for milosevic ... one example
another one, hospitals and lunatic asylums ... same story, somebody in charge took all the papers and put the X into the "right" field ... for milosevic ...
ive been a couple of times at the voting stations as the controlling guy, watching and helping, that all things go right .. and it was ok ... but , its the home-voters- papers i didnt had controll of, and those were counted in the capital city, not at the local level ...

paper ballots as jesus describes would be a huge step back to a secure system

remember deran, to system has to be auditable by anyone off the streets if pressed into the job. technology doesn't all for that

I think the benefits of doubling the number of voters would overwhelm the doubling of the error rate

reah ben. i've also thought about using online voting for citizen to replace congress vote. that is we the people vote on bills that congress puts forth.

A true democracy , not a representative republic as now.

but a true democracy is fraught with problems.. in a nut shell Americans are uneducated idiots, never work. 'nuff said

I'm sorry, I failed my constituency. I used all my influence to get the voting age down to 6. And failed. I figure .. anyone out of kindergarten should be able to wipe their own asses.

Germany this year their supreme court declared election vote counting by computer illegal

they had two points
one being that anyone pulled off the street to evaluate the process couldn't...
