nice haul!

folks dont realize how much less water poppies take to bring to harvest... how much worse of conditions and shorter season they can manage

did you do the cut and milk with any of them while on the stalks?

Yeah, what do you do with them? Do you just grind them up for tea, or can they be smoked or eaten? I never knew anyone that grew poppies.

the first ones of the year i lick the first 3-4.
kind of a custom for me. well they are for
tea. i get bad migraines so if all else fails
i have a cup of tea. tho 2 times a year i will
drink some for fun. Lrus007

The sap is intensely bitter and the tea from the dried pods isn't much better. You get significantly more buzz per pod by making tea than doing the incision and sap collecting thing. Poppies are far easier to grow than cannabis--not that cannabis is hard, but poppies are less fussy about soil and water and will go feral and plentifully self sow once a good patch is established which cannabis will seldom do. Also the seeds are legally available in the US and if you don't grow a lot will seldom even be noticed. I see them all the time in people's yards grown as ornamentals.

Do you have to make sure you don't get buzzed on it too often in too short a period of time to keep yourself from experiencing withdrawl ?

never do tea over 2 days in a row.
then never more often than every 2 weeks.
if you do you will grow a monkey on your back.

The nearby large Punjabi population goes through poppy pod tea by the ton. To them it's like coffee. I forget what they call it.

You should make suppositories out of them.
