Ever think about deeper containers, The limited root development area may be holding those back some.

I've pulled a few out of the cups during flower and there isnt great root development. I attribute that to not enough time vegging. There's lots I messed up this grow that I plan on working on in subsequent grows. The CFL was probably a mistake in the first 2 weeks. The fertilization was light and of the wrong type in those 2 weeks (higher P). And a few other things.
I'm down to 4 plants now...
There are some positives. The light clearly to me shows no lack of penetration or ability to grow and flower our favorite plant. The lack of ability has been all me I suspect. I wanted to build A 400W light for a more direct comparison but funds were limited. I think this light will do well once I get better.
It's getting to be about time to make clones for the next run.

I would like to go LED in the future but they are pricy
I want to build one, and started reading about it last week.
Are you using 1w or 3 w diodes?
The general consensus being 3 /1w are better than 1/ 3w
lots more soldering though.
and havent I seen amber colored diodes in many grow lights.?
