NameTaken's Second Grow.

Post by NameTaken »

Hey Y'all,

Some of the older leaves on my clones are beginning to yellow and they have black/brown spots on them. Is this most likely a nutrient deficiency or a fungus, mold, something else? Any ideas? You can see in the first couple of pictures that some of the newer, upper leaves are just fine, dark green and healthy.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

EDIT: This thread starts out with DISASTER! and then gets better.

Yes they are rooted, they are about 1.5 wks. old.

Yes, the soil is wet, I just transplanted them out of solo cups. so i wet them through pretty well so they don't get too shocked..

Looks like too much water/not enough air to the roots.
I suspect that's causing the yellowing and the bending under of the leaf edges.
Maybe a bit low on magnesium too, but get the watering sorted out, and then think about deficiencies.

Were the cups pretty full of root when you transplanted?

Yes, I transplanted four of my clones because they were big enough. The white roots were curling around inside the bottom of the cup. :smoke:

I have been keeping them pretty wet lately, and there's not much peat moss in the soil, so that might be whats causing the problem. Thanks so much Bloke!

Hmmm, so if i get some peat moss or perlite, i can remix the soil. Which one works better/ should I buy? I'll buy some later today. Meanwhile I'll start watering less. Thanks everyone!!!

Many nice potting soils around, all with perlite.
many folks around here add more to that.
make sure you pots have good drainage as well.

So I would rather not buy potting mix, as the soil I am using is a mix of homemade compost and homemade worm castings. Its really GOOD, just i guess no air space, cause its really heavy.
Going to the store now, Any final suggestions between perlite and peat moss?

Well I got perlite, and mixed it in so that is is about 25-35% of the mix with soil making up the remainder. We'll see if the plants get better over the next few days. I'll keep you guys posted.
