OK, not to sound like an idiot but...12 hours dark, 6 hours lights on and then 6 hours what?

its not a 24h rythem btw, that leads to confusion, a programmable micro controller should do the trick

I don't remember the study but it was in High Times a few years back. The best growth resulted from a 24 hour period.

Fastest growth occured the longer the lights were on up to 12 hours was peak light period as at thatlength flowering is signaled. Doing 6 hours light doesn't result in faster plants equal in weight and growth to those doing a 24 photoperiod. You want as much light as possible and minimum amount of no light.

By shortening the light it .... assumed a build up of sugars to prepare for production and shut down systems .... twice a day versus 1 time a day added to an unneeded energy loss.

Thats my unprofessional guess why anyway.

Working them rotating shifts is a bitch.
