anybody else get this?
you get a karma increase, and a note from the sender which ends with a link to the post you made which got you the karma hit
but when i click on the link, foxfire tells me its a security risk
ususally i can figure out what post it was
so i just shut this window and continue myself
but just recently i decided to click "continue" in the warning box
but instead of proceeding,
i got two more levels of "are you sure you want to do this?????"
the third box told me "no legitimate site would be asking you to do this"
so,
do i simply have a browser setting wrong?
what the fuck is this shit all about?

i dunno, but long ago...
i entered mypg as an "Exception" in that screen
to allow for lapses in renewing the stupid https security certificates.
i haven't seen that message since,
and my pc hasn't blown up or melted down or anything.

Just access the non-https version of the site and that should stop.

The Karma was given by an https user, which placed an https link on the message instead of an http link.
Unless the certificate is paid for by a certificate company, this message will occur.

Just for shits and giggles I just put https in the url. I got the message that the certificate had expired but clicked on the proceed anyway. everything is loading fine but there is a red X through the padlock and a red line through the https. I assume from that, I am not connected in secure mode.....right?

You are most likely on the secure server. If you give the site an exemption on your browser, then you should no longer see any warnings.(depending on which browser)
The secure encryption will work as long as the s is at the end of https.
Most online shopping and other sites that use people's sensitive info, will buy a certificate which certifies that they are a real company doing legitimate business.
Sites like pg can make what is called a snakeoil cert to enable the encryption without the cost of being verified as a legit business.
I have steamed dumpling sauce on my keybord and it's making my fingers sticky.
