Are you sure that's Gad?
If so, he's a little off his game.
I thought what the heck, go for a single-digit user #... So I'm # 69...

Hey Ben, Partials are usually left for winter feed. Tho, so long as the honey is capped, it's good to harvest. It's the open cells of nectar that you want to avoid. When they cap it, it's good for long term storage. And that's another issue with the flow hive. Without opening the hive up, you have n...

A healthy hive ready to reproduce or swarm will raise dozens and swarm queens are the best. A collapsing hive may. If queen is failing they will attempt to replace her and do hedge their bets. Some strains (primorsky or "russian") will tend to be starting replacements all the time. It seem...

Hey Ben, Yes, unfortunately I have. Varroa Destructor is the bane of keeping bees these days. Fortunately I am in a rural, non-agricultural area, and there is plenty of pesticide-free bee pasture and I've been spreading sweet clover seed in the utility right-of-ways for years. The mites got ahead of...

The Irony of Knowledge
The irony of the knowledge that success in Obama's America requires that one own a senator or 3. Fortunately there is "Congressmen's Warehouse" to the rescue!! Discount congressmen who will vote to your orders for less!! What a concept! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03YEYNN_slI Smokes ou...

Trump election Results in Australia
Yep, you read that correctly...
Protest votes in Australia.
Austrailian Results
So, with no choice for "none of the above" they are writing-in "Trump"
A trend perhaps?

btw: I have no interest in using a flow-hive. I'm just curious about how they'll hold-up to the real environment inside a healthy hive. I'll keep doing things the "old-fashioned" way. Not completely natural, since feral bees choose smaller spaces for their hives, Yet I am fond of the "...

Yep, and I'm waiting to see how flow hives will function long-term. My bet is they won't. In this micro-climate (temperate w/cold winters), I would worry that a flow hive would get sealed to death with all the propolis. You wouldn't believe how much of the stuff they collect late-summer, early fall....

This is bizarre, bees have no interest in female cannabis flowers normally. link: Man trains bees to collect cannabis resin I've kept honey bees since I was a pup. Bees love male flowers as pollen is "steak" to a honeybee. Nectar is an energy drink and is used to make honey as a energy sou...
