Does anyone remember me from Overgrow?

High folx! I used to be on Overgrow back around 2000-ish, and I recognize some of the usernames here. Hopefully some of you can remember me!

I used to grow black mamba x Bogglegum and had a blast doing so. Unfortunately, life happened, and I had to quit growing around 2005 or so. I’m just now getting back into it, and I kept a stash of my old seeds for just such an occasion.

Sadly I don’t think any of them are still viable. I’ve tried just about every conceivable method and… nothing. I keep hoping to find someone who can help me do an embryo rescue and tissue culture, but that’s kind of a fool’s hope.

I feel like methuselah because so much has changed. Lights- no more HPS?! I remember when LEDs were just starting to be experimented with, and they were pretty expensive. Now they’re cheap and they are everywhere!

Autoflowers are another thing that’s new to me. Ruderalis was this strange little species of cannabis from Russia that sucked in every conceivable way except one: the autoflowering trait. Is any of it worth the hassle of growing?

So much of the dispensary weed I have tried has been disappointing. It’s always bone dry, instead of sticky nugz it’s so dry it just shatters. And frankly it just sucks. The stuff I used to grow got me smiling sideways, but the stuff I have tried lately is just…meh. So many goofy names and it all just seems the same. /rant

Anyway, I’m starting over from scratch and wanted to say howdy.

I watched that video- talk about a walk down memory lane!! The photo of Reaper (I think it was him) with that HUGE freaking cola is just incredible. Sadly, I didn’t see my old avatar, but I did see Makisupa’s and heard a lot of names I remember.

You know, I still have an Overgrow screensaver somewhere in my storage room. I know there’s some freaking awesome stuff (including some of my own plants!) on it. I might try to copy it and send it to you (or someone you suggest), assuming I can find the dang thing.

I wonder how many of us are still around and kicking? I haven’t grown in 15 years, but I’m hoping to get back into it.

Hopefully I will hang out a bit more. I’m planning a brand new grow, though not with my old seeds. I’m just sick that they are not viable…that blueberry jet fuel smell was my absolute favorite, and I haven’t found ANYTHING remotely similar to it yet.
