next few days so no sunburn. might put in barrel outside next sun.
DSCN5181.JPG
my 2 onions that started in a pot in the greenhouse. doing well.
DSCN5186.JPG
then leaf lettuce is sprouting now out there.
DSCN5188.JPG
i got more onion seed. planted 2 pots 1 is under dome other is out
in greenhouse. but came up with a plan B today

well plan B last years onions only some reds did not rot.
was a few that made it were soft but not rotted. was 4-5
of them. i set on a burlap bag and left them. they sent out
sprouts in the dark room. so today broke them up and planted.
they make it least have some onions lol.
DSCN5194.JPG
the 2nd planting of garlic looks like it did alright. so got garlic.
DSCN5190.JPG
then here is the owl cut out with bell on bottom. hope to keep
cats out of things. the string had wound up overnight. so i went
and remounted it. used wire and a swivel spins freely now.
DSCN5191.JPG
guess that is it for now

I don't know, a twirling moving bird like thing is likely to attract the cats. but since I have a gopher problem I have the opposite cat problem I'm doing everything I can to attract cats into my garden.
A wild lynx was prowling around a couple weeks ago. I just watched as quiet as I could. Welcoming him to come back whenever.

So far no other cat is adopted me yet.

well so far i have not seen them. i also put a 2x6 across
gap under gate. has been rainy so there prob under cover.
but with the little rain the poppy plot dirt is all same color.
when fluffed is some dry, some wet looking. the owl is a gamble.
we have owls, hawks, and eagles that perch on the tall trees out
front. so they might be wary of it or the bell on it.

your gopher problem

each spike does about a 20' circle. they worked for me years ago.
might give that a try. as for cats if there are some around. put some
food out they will find it. then they come back.

2nd pot of onions sprouted under heat mat. they went right
out to the greenhouse. one on left was last of 1st seeds i got.
on the right is the 2nd pack of seeds. you can see was seeded
better. there is 1 more planted with newer seeds i set in greenhouse
the day i planted. there not up yet. seem to be doing ok so far.
DSCN5212.JPG
the parsley liked the move to greenhouse. i plan on planting them
soon. in with the barrel chives are in.
DSCN5214.JPG
lettuce is starting to take off. will plant some more soon.
DSCN5215.JPG
2nd planting of garlic is doing good. weeded with the bent fork
today. funny it works so well.
DSCN5218.JPG
iris and lillies are starting to go now. lost a lot of iris this year.
lost them and my garlic this year. had to be either to much rain
or a warm day to 0ºF overnight then lasted a week. i will never know.
DSCN5217.JPG
debating if to early to get melons on heat mat. thinking start on heat mat
then into a cloning dome and tray in the greenhouse. like a double greenhouse.
might do it if it fails, i still got time. if it works have a jump start. can go out in june.

I'm also often enticed by: if it works out I can get a jump start..

I just planted the cantaloupe seeds yesterday.
Again old seeds so I'm thinking it might take longer to sprout. If they come up quick & If it works out all right I'll get a jump start :smoke:
If not, try then fresh seed packets it is.
